Turn it on and let’s see if Gilligan’s Island is on, or maybe Bewitched! We had 9 channels back then and hundreds today and there is less to watch now.

Am I first

My aunt and uncle gave me one of these to take to college. Many girls on my floor would come in to watch. They would hold their arms and legs just right until someone yelled, “Don’t move!” Lots of laughter in my room! 😂

Yes all the throwback stories! Stand and hold those bunny ears!

Well, that’s either a Panasonic TR-542a or a Ford Philco Trendsetter. Either way it displays the same crap we have to watch on YouTube, Instagram, Tik Tok or whatever nonsense you stream nowadays. It’s all a vast waste land like it always has been since television was created.

I was allowed to take our old B&W TV into my bedroom but the only place it got any signal was in the middle of my bed so I'd have to sit on the floor to watch it. Many happy hours watching late night snooker in B&W!

Who else was the youngest member of their family, and so got tricked into BEING the antenna? Sometimes I had to move the ears around the room a little, depending on the room, and I even recall aluminum foil crunched onto the tips. I'm pretty sure it was some sibling torture that caused me to stand behind the TV, holding the antenna and minutely adjusting each one for the "perfect" (black and white) picture! We got built in antennae on a big color floor model in time for the moon shot in 1969!

Man oh man I had the bunny ears positioned perfectly to get the tv station that played the baseball games then my chinchilla spooked and zoomed (probably thought there was a snick snack waiting in the other room) and knocked it all out of whack. Now I’ll have to spend another hour moving the bunny ears to get the channel. It’s ok though. I love chinchillas.
